The Design Process

Talizon Design Styles
Step by Step -  We work closely with every client during each of the five design phases:

Phase One:   Client Questionnaire
Phase Two:   Preliminary Design Concepts
Phase Three:   Refinement of the Selected Concept
Phase Four:   Final Design and Color Studies
Phase Five:   Archiving the Talizon

Phase One:   Client Questionnaire - After you have acquainted yourself with Talizon, contact us to request a Talizon Design Portfolio. One of the purposes of the Portfolio is to get you thinking about the style of your Talizon. It contains a variety of samples from talented designers and examples of how a Talizon can be incorporated into home furnishings and other products. The Design Portfolio is available for a $100 deposit that is applied towards your Talizon design fee.

The Design Portfolio also includes the Client Questionnaire. The Questionnaire requests information about your design preferences and specifications that will closely guide us in the creation of your Talizon.

Once we review your completed Questionnaire, the artist best suited to design your Talizon is selected and the creative process begins.

Phase Two:  Preliminary Design Concepts - During the second phase, the designer develops a variety of concepts for your Talizon. Three or four of the strongest designs are presented to you -- in person, by email, fax, or by post.

Phase Three:  Refinement of the Selected Concept -  During the third phase, you select a design direction from the preliminary concepts, and the designer uses your feedback to refine that concept. Refinement may consist of fine-tuning an individual design or of combining features from different concepts into a new variation.

Phase Four:  Final Design and Color Studies -  Your Talizon is completed in the fourth phase. Depending upon its style, a collection of companion elements can also be created for use when a Talizon in its entirety is not feasible or desired. For example, a companion element might be used for an application onto a small item such as a napkin ring or piece of jewelry.

All Talizons are created to function as one-color designs and some Talizons are most successful as one-color images. Other designs present an opportunity for color combinations. This phase includes color studies of your Talizon, exploring one-color options or combinations of two or three colors.

Phase Five:  Archiving and Using Your Talizon -  When your Talizon is completed, you will receive it in the form of an archival quality print within a customized album, formally presented and affixed with Talizon's "Stamp of Authenticity."

Talizon also provides digital archiving services of your design for safekeeping and future use. Digital archiving is the process of transforming your Talizon into a digital form that is kept on a computer disk in Talizon's office.

You have unlimited personal use of your design. There are several ways you can use your Talizon:

Your Talizon can be applied to a variety of products featured in our
catalogue. The catalogue is updated regularly, and new product information
is always available on our web site.

Other, even more customized product applications can be arranged through
Talizon or through your interior designer or architect.

You can arrange for the delivery of your Talizon in print or electronic
   formats for your own use.
